The government response to the petition against digital ID that currently stands at just under 2.8 million signatures begins:
We will introduce a digital ID within this Parliament to help tackle illegal migration, make accessing government services easier, and enable wider efficiencies. We will consult on details soon.
I laughed when I read it. Then I laughed even more when I read the rest of the response. Not because I think it’s funny, but because it’s the response I completely expected from them. I’m angry, amused and sad. Angry at the arrogance of the government thinking they can just ignore us but I’m not surprised by it. Amused at the reasons they give for introducing it because I know they are so far removed from the real reasons they want to bring it in. Sad at how they talk about it like it’s a done deal because I know that it very well could be if the population doesn’t come together en masse to oppose it. I won’t comply with it – I’m just not doing it!
Absolutely agree with your thoughts Sarah, and feel encouraged that so many people are pushing back. I feel the panic and hatred towards us from these maniacs and believe together we can overcome this x
Although it makes me angry and I do feel sad about the whole thing, like you I feel encouraged that so many people are pushing back against it. I think they know that Britain will be one of the most difficult places to bring it in because historically we have overwhelmingly rejected it. They also know that while for the most part we are a quiet, polite, tolerant and easy going nation, when we are pushed too far we will stand up against them and we will win. Right now we are so divided and so distracted that they think they can sneak it in by playing into the very things that are dividing and distracting us. I think we are very good though at pulling together when it really matters.
I totally agree with you Sarah. I just can’t see the digital ID happening personally. Not that I’m being complacent but I do not know anyone that supports the idea. I actually think Two Tier Kier will lose his job over it because he will have to make another embarrassing U-Turn! 😂
I was also angered by their arrogance and dismissal. Not long after I saw that, my Uncle who was strongly against the V’s, (which is a minority in my family because they follow the official narrative and scoff at anything else), wrote a status basically saying he saw nothing wrong with digital ID’s because it’s no different than passports and if we have nothing to hide then there is nothing to worry about. It was a double blow and it made me feel very disheartened and nervous for the future for a moment there, but regardless I do believe that this time the numbers are definitely more in our favour against the ID’s than they were against the V’s so it gives me hope.
I think it definitely won’t be brought in by Labour but I don’t think it’s meant to be. I know this has been mentioned on Ickonic a few times and I agree that Reform are being set up to be the next party in power; they will be the ones who will be tasked with bringing it in. Labour are just testing the waters, laying the foundations and starting the fear mongering so by the time Reform get in many people who would have opposed it under Labour will now accept it under what is essentially the same party (as all the main ones are) but with a different name.
I can see why people would view it as being no different from passports; they said in the government response to the petition (I can’t remember the exact wording) that you won’t be required to carry it, it won’t be a criminal offence to not carry it and the police won’t be stopping you to ask for it. When I read that I said to my husband that in itself will make a lot of people think ‘well what’s the problem then, that’s fine’ but what they don’t realise is that with a digital ID you won’t need to have a physical card, or something on your phone to present – it’ll all be done through biometrics with all the facial recognition we have now and eventually using fingerprints as well. I read an article yesterday about India rolling out biometric authentication for instant digital payments, see here – but that’s a whole other discussion thread!
I happened to watch ‘Have I got News For You’ on the BBC this week, a strongly Left leaning satirical news and current affairs program that reviews and lampoons the people in the news.
I wasn’t surprised that digital Id’s played such a small part of the show, when it is the most significant thing that has happened this week in the UK, this is on the BBC after all, but what I found most annoying was the actress Sheila Hancock’s initial apathy towards there introduction, which then seemed to turn towards positivity as the conversation went on. She still has her WWII physical id card and can’t see a problem with the whole concept much akin to @stardust252 uncle. I think this is the route that the Starmerites may be planning to promote them
We really need to get the word out that they are not for our benefit, but instead the elites control of us.
I agree with all that’s been said. I contacted my MP to ask if would be exempt and he failed to reply. He acquiesces by his silence!
I have notice when I share a link my post doesn’t post. So here’s an interesting interview called ANDREW BRIDGEN: “Say NO to Digital ID – Or LOSE Freedom FOREVER” on youtube by Jasmine Birtles.
Also what I just tried to share before that didn’t post is that the European Union are implementing Digital wallets by 2030 – ‘’ By the end of 2030, all Bulgarian citizens will be required to have a digital wallet installed on their mobile devices, an electronic tool that will hold personal and professional data, recognized both within Bulgaria and throughout the European Union. This initiative is part of the EU’s Digital Transformation Strategy 2026–2030, aiming to establish a unified European digital identity, explained Prof. Georgi Dimitrov, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Eurotrust Technologies, during his interview on Bloomberg TV.’’
Hello everyone. Today is the protest in London for the digital id, so I was looking at the news outlets if they are covering the story. What I found was nothing !!! only some small local news outlets did cover the story. Yet again proof that the media tries to influence people’s perception by not covering such an important story.
Hi Cisko,
I have seen a couple of videos on David Icke’s ‘X’ account; other than that, nothing more.
Yes that is exactly what I mean. They are afraid if it would get coverage the protest would even grow bigger. I found some on a few small outlets LBC, City am and Manchester evening news. And like you said Twitter.
I found this on YouTube 3hrs long someone has recoded the protest it looks like. I haven’t watched it as I’m heading to bed up for 4am for work 😩 Lol but I will be having a crafty earbud in listening to Ickonic.
Night everyone sleep well x

I wish you Brits the very best in your pushback against digital ID. As of May 7th this year in America we are not allowed to fly without a passport or what is called REAL ID (yes they have it in capital letters). We can still get a regular driver’s license when renewing for now, but are urged to get the REAL ID, for $30 more! 😂 I just love how they’ve named it that and always capitalize. How well you folks fight back on it will probably gauge how fast it is brought in here. But as of now, airplane travel is already restricted to being digitalized.
