Does anyone know anything about Qortal? It’s a new decentralised blockchain based internet. Mike Winner is one of the founders. It’s a peer to peer system with no servers or data centres required. “Totally in the private” as they say. It’s an understatement to say I’m not techie, so I’m probably not describing it very well at all!! It has encrypted emailing, it’s own version of YouTube, own currency, plus heaps and heaps of other things. They talk about building up the network of nodes and minting their currency. It looks very promising, but as you probably tell most of this is way over my head!! Check it out folks.
hm – Hi Glen – the only thing I think – blockchain is another Matrix Trap – creating hope and leaving you alone in the end – the blockchain concept sounds very attractive – but this is how it should be – to lock you in hope, creating good feeling over some time – but leaving you in the end shocked – because this satan thing was designed to canalize hope (sorry – my english is not better) –
lease nowhere – creates only hope and is a Gatekeeper – nothing more – sorry – dont want to destroy your hope – but have to – because HOPE is a Trigger Concept of the Matrix to create more and easier LOOSH 😉 nothing more …
Thanks Miss Saigon, don’t worry I’m not living in hope regarding anything technological. Just thought I should broaden my knowledge on such subjects. My main hopes for today are that my kids enjoy the dinner I’m cooking and that my chickens are happy and will lay me plenty of eggs. 😊
I have a friend highly involved in Quantum Stellar Initiative promoting the exact same dynamics …have you heard of Stellar ….I believe they originate in the US although my friend lives in B.C., Canada….they seem like a cult to me with their non stop positive wording about the bright future they are building with this decentralized, digital world of tokenism ……all assets are turned in to tokens, including property….etc….my friend is sold on this 110% percent and has an answer for everything I may question…….is this Quotal thing, like this?
Well I took a gander :), not that I’m a real techy but a just a little 🙂 This is the first line of text for what you need to open a account with them “Creating an account means creating a new wallet and digital ID to start using Qortal.” For me every service that relies on these kinds of verification is not an open and free service. For example if you look at the dark web and Tor browser it’s all based on anonymity with vpn’s(there are not even real save but better than nothing) . So if there would be a new way or a better internet it should be decentralized and a different way of connecting to each other. I once knew of a messaging app that connected crowds with each other through Bluetooth(example a protest) so that people could communicate without the use of the internet. Does this make it somewhat clearer ? Greets Cisko
Decentralisation isn’t the same as anonymity. Still a net, still a matrix.
It just means a computer network is splintered and time stamped across various points.
It’s like a mesh or indeed a matrix. Your data is split out and continually verified (so, it is no different to logging in and out of things now) across a bunch of different servers and nodes, instead of being within the remit of one or two companies and their servers.
You would still have an ID and you would still be tracked.
It is very likely that Government ID services in the future will be decentralised.
It’s just another buzzword.
Bluetooth meshes are not secure either. The recent “protests” (engineered by social media) in Indonesia and Nepal used BitChat to stay out of sight of government. Bluetooth, however, can be traced by most major governments anyway 😂
Beware anything they tell you is “Freedom Tech”. It ain’t.
